FLORIANOPOLIS CITY MASTER PLAN
A new Master Plan is being developed for the entire city. With 600.000 inhabitants (if the conurbation is considered we have 9 00.000 inhabitants), 436kmē, which 63% of them are in preservation areas, the city has several obstacles to be seized.
This new process of developing the Master Plan has the active participation of the citizens, with weekly meetings in the City Council's conference hall and regulars meeting and workshops in the district's offices.
The workshops were held by the IPUF's team, which I was one of the coordinators. The purpose of the workshops were to prepare the community to understand the urbanism tools and prepare the citizens to act together with the urbanists to create and develop the new land regulations, due to reach the citizens intention of city.
Santo Antônio de Lisboa
Development of a brochure for explaining the Master Plan of the district of Santo Antonio de Lisboa, directed to their community and preparation of workshops. With IPUF’s team.
Pântano do Sul
First phase of the development of the Master Plan of the district of Pantano do Sul, with the preparation of material and workshops to their inhabitants, due to prepare them to join the development of the plan. With IPUF’s team.
Parque Urbano Macico do Morro da Cruz
Creation of the new city park: Parque Urbano Macico do Morro da Cruz. Designed in a central area of the city in endangered lands due to the illegal occupation. The project intents to prevent those settlements to become the so called “favela”, to preserve the left of the natural forest and to create a green leisure central area. With IPUF’s team.
Costeira do Pirajubae
Another endangered area (to become a favela) near the center of the city, where besides the new migrants there is still an expressive number of fishermen that lost their direct connection with the shore, due to a construction of a high-road. The project design seizes both aspects and put them together in a new park that regenerates the green besides the main water stream (where the population gets their water supply) at the same time that creates a strong connection with the cost and use the remain land created by the new road for their new leisure center, with all the urban equipments that were lacking in the community before.
